Over the past couple of weeks we have been continuing with editing, putting the shots into an order we feel works well, and importing the shots that we did of the fire. We will have these incorporated into the footage so that they appear in amongst the rest of the shots, creating intrigue.
We have been continuing to develop our ideas as to what we can do to make our trailer even better. One of the ideas is to make words or phrases such as: "lady of nobility", "anger" "passion" and "powerful man" flash up on the screen as the other shots can be seen. We will make the editing for these quick, so that they are almost like subliminal messages.
Another point is that yesterday we recorded a voiceover using Sarah, but we did not think it worked that well, so we are going to get a male to do it instead. Today we did an over-the-shoulder shot of Sarah on Findmypast.com as we got permission to film their website. This will link to the modern day aspect of the film well, and create a contrast between the two time periods. We also filmed some newspaper clippings we had created about the fire at Kiplin Hall and how it has been restored so that Sarah has a reason to go back and visit the house. One of the clippings had been teabagged to make it look old, and so that a contrast between the two could be seen. These props will be of significance to the storyline, as they will make the link between Sarah and Frances clear, as well as creating interest for the viewer.
These are the newspaper clippings that we created:
